How do I calculate my rate?

Rates are based on age and increase as you enter a new age category. Get a rate quote below or refer to the brochure for more details. Rates also increase when a member is a tobacco user. Premiums may be periodically increased on policies to reflect coverage utilization and help ensure their financial stability.

Can I apply for coverage for my spouse?

Yes. Your spouse may be covered if he/she is under age 60 and resides in the U.S. Your unmarried dependent children ages 14 days through 18 years (25 if a full-time student) are also eligible for coverage—provided you are currently insured or request coverage.

How long does the application process take? When will my coverage become effective?

For some policies, coverage becomes effective within a few days of receiving your application. For others, the process is longer because of required medical underwriting procedures. The underwriting process depends on many factors: the number of people requesting coverage, their ages, the amount and type of coverage applied for, and medical history.

Do I have to take a medical exam, blood test, or other health analysis?

Whether or not you must undergo medical testing depends on the amount of coverage you are requesting, your age, and your individual medical history.

Who administers the program?
